Headstone of Arnold Wesley Stewart, my G-G-Grandfather. He is buried in Scotland County in the Spring Hill Church Cemetery located between Laurel Hill and Wagram on the Old Wire Road. I don't have much information about
Arnold, only a few details from some old census data. Notice though the engraving of a ships anchor on his headstone. It makes me wonder if perhaps he was a sailor or mariner at some point in his life. The coordinates of Arnold's Gravesite and the Spring Hill Cemetery are
Lattitude 34 Degrees 52'56.6" North, Longitude 79 Degrees 23' 21.6" West.

Headstone of Laura Jane (Caddell) Stewart. She was my G-Grandmother on my Father's side. Laura was married to a James Stubbs before she married my G-Grandfather. James died after breathing smoke while fighting fire when his home caught ablaze.
Laura had some children by James. Laura is buried at Mizpah Cemetery between her oldest Stewart son, William Allen , and a grandchild, Hazel Player, a daughter of Eupha (Stubbs) Player, a daughter from her first marriage. The coordinates of Laura Janes'
gravesite are Lattitude 34 degrees 53' 54" North, Longitude 79 degrees 46' 51.6" West.

Headstone of William Allen Stewart. Allen was the oldest Stewart son of David Wesley and Laura Jane (Caddell) Stewart, my G-Grandparents on my Father's side. Allen drowned while fishing from a boat with his Brother-in-Law. Grandpa said that he was a great swimmer,
but he also had a drinking problem. I don't remember much about Allen as I was a small child when he died. The memories that I do have are good memories though. He would always have treats for us younguns, and we especially loved the sparklers and fireworks he
would give us. Daddy would tell us how he could lay his arm across the spark plugs on an old flat-head a-model car and choke it down while getting shocked from the high voltage. Did I say that he had a drinking problem? Allen is buried at Mizpah Cemetery in Rockingham, NC next to his
Mother, Laura Jane.

Headstone of Laura (Stewart) Quick Griggs. Laura is a sister of my Grandfather Funderburk "Bert" Stewart and was named after her Mother, Laura Jane. Laura is buried in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery on Sandhills Road in Rockingham. Grandpa told
that there was snow and bad weather the day that Laura was buried.

Headstone of Funderburk "Bert" Stewart and wife Bessie (Benson) Stewart. They are buried in the Richmond Memorial Park Cemetery. Notice the guitar casting on Grandpa's marking. He loved music, and though has never had a lesson, he could play the guitar (as well as the piano)
to the enjoyment of all who heard. I used to love to see him lay the guitar in his lap and play it like a steele guitar, using his pocket knife for a slide on the frets.

Headstone of my Father, Douglas Stewart. He died from a head injury resulting from a fall. Notice that his recorded birth date is March 15th, and that he died exactly 71 years later on the same date. Notice the Angel statue in the middle. Grandma and Grandpa Andrews are buried nearby and have a duplicate Angel on their marker.
Before Mom leaves church on Sundays, she fills the basin that the angels are holding with birdseed. The birds and squirrels are very appreciative.
There is also a wooden birdhouse nailed to the pinetree close to the tombstones. It is joyfully inhabited every year during the Spring. Dad is buried at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mom and Dad attended church there. Mom
has been a member there since she was a small child, and still attends. Many of my Richardson ancestors from my Grandmother Andrews are buried here also.

Headstone of Kenneth Bert Stewart. Kenneth is buried at Eastside Cemetery off US 1 North of Rockingham. The coordinates are
Latitude 34 degrees 56'40.2" N, Longitude 79 degrees 45' 02.7" West. My most vivid memories of Kenneth are of his musical talents. He could play anything that had strings on it. My brother and I and Kenneth's children, our Cousins, were very close. We were raised together and played together all the time.
